The First Unitarians

The first Unitarians lived in the Transylvania region of the Hungarian Empire during the Reformation.  Spurred by Bishop Ferenc David with the support of King John Sigismund they abandoned the Catholic doctrine of the Trinity and worshipped "one God." When the King died the new ruler imprisoned Bishop David for heresy but he refused to recant. This anthem tells the story.  SATB w. piano.  Level of difficulty: high.  Duration: 5 min.
